Laura-Kate Chapman

Laura-Kate Draws a freelance artist since 2009 has created artwork for a personal portfolio and exhibitions. She has also worked on a variety of professional briefs which have included illustrations for a children’s book and numerous sculpture painting projects for Wild in Art. Other clients have included RSC, The New Birmingham Library, Arts Council Collection and White Stuff.

Alongside these commission projects she has also developed an own range of illustrated products, which comprises of greetings cards, hand painted digital prints, screen prints and screen-printed apparel, jewellery and printed ceramic, which she designs and produces. These are sold via Etsy and at a variety of arts and crafts markets around the North West.
The work is predominantly hand drawn using a variety of media, but Laura-Kate particularly loves working with water colours and fine line pens and, in more recent years, exploring the possibilities of both screen and lino printing. In an age of constantly evolving technology, it is important to me that her work continues to be executed by hand using traditional methods as much as possible. Animals are her favourite subject matter to illustrate, particularly cats and dogs, as well as weird and wonderful animals from around the world. You will also find lots of flora, fauna, nature and birds sneaking into the illustrated products.
