Design Inspiration

This robotic AI machine with metal skeleton and joints represents science and the environment. The power source is a petrol engine, referring to the current issues of environmental pollution caused by petrol and diesel burning engines. The electric motor converting the machine from petrol to electric power, illustrates a brighter cleaner future. Entwined around the metal skeleton, double helix strands of DNA are emblematic of the scientific research carried out in Cambridge.

The Gonville Hotel is a family-run business in the heart of Cambridge with true family values. The Gonville story started in 1962 after being bought by the current Chairman’s Grandfather, Harold Ridgeon. In 1972 the Gonville Hotel was opened and since that time it has undergone significant investment and expansion to become the hotel that it is today.
